“I go to school by bus”… The whole comment section of all the English posts are filled with insults by the claim-to-be “true Hong Konger”. I don’t understand why I can’t speak English in this forum, it might seems to be foreign. However, I feel more comfortable expressing myself with English. Over 70% of my schoolmates chat with each other with English during both class and recess. So why can’t we speak English? It’s completely normal to be a English speaker!! Don’t be a freak when u see another English post by DGS or other school! I noticed that all the posts that are typed in English, no matter what is true subject is, the comment section will always have at least one comment of people questioning the choice of language used – English. It’s completely ridiculous as Hong Kong was once colonized by Britain, it’s completely normal that people would like to speak English!! Apart from English, Putonghua is also an official language in Hong Kong. Don’t be selfish! Cantonese is not the only official language in Hong Kong!!
