To people who will be going to study in UK :
A lot of people who are thinking of studying in UK have the concern of racism. And let me tell you based on my personal experience that it does not only happen to black/brown people.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Asians now face racism in European countries, if you look it up, a lot of people were killed from hate crimes targeting Asians in America. Once I was in a mall in UK, and a man walked past me shouting
“There’s a Chinese corona virus over there” his act of regarding a Chinese person as a coronavirus is considered as racist. And I strongly believe that a lot of HK students who are studying in UK have experienced things like these.
So I am telling you, that you need to have mental preparations because you can’t expect to get lucky. But this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go to UK because you did nothing wrong. The racist people are just being racist and rude, you can ignore it but the first few times you experience racism targeted to you won’t feel good. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourselves.
